On occasion of World cancer day, 6 days Freecheck up camp from 31st of January to 5th of February for cancer was inaugurated at Karnataka Ayurveda Hospital, Hoigebail, Ashoknagar which is a constituent unit of the SCS group of Institutions. The camp was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries present. The gathering was welcomed by Dr.Waheeda Banu, HOD of the Department of Kayachikitsa. Medical superintendent of the hospital Dr. Udaya DK stressed upon the importance of screening cancer at a very early stage. He also explained various treatment modalities for cancer. Mr. U.K. Khalid administrative officer was the guest for the event and stressed upon the qualities that one need to imbibe to prevent diseases like cancer. Dr. Ravi rao S, Principal of the institute delivered the Presidential address where he stressed upon the importance of Ayurveda in cancer and to also follow certain ayurvedic principles to lead a happy and healthy life. Medical Director of the Hospital Dr. Ajith Kamath M delivered the Vote of Thanks. Dr. Pallavi, Assistant professor from the department of Kayachikitsa compered the programme. Deputy Medical superintendent Dr.RavindraBhat, vice Principal Dr. Jacinta M D souza, Assistant Administrative officer Mr. Saju, Dr.Elizabeth john, Dr.Karthikeya Prasad, Dr. Sahana, Dr. Shubhashri, Dr. Swati Suvarna,  Dr.Manuchandran, Dr. Pooja, DrAncy and all internees along with the hospital staffs were present during the event.
